are they rich for they have wealth

are they rich for they own a lot of land

are they rich for they can buy all the comforts

are they rich for people bow to them

shall we put it the other way

are they truly rich for their money can’t buy them a smile

are they truly rich if they don’t care for the poor

are they truly rich for they spend sleepless nights

expensive mattress can’t buy them tension free sleep

shall we conclude it now

no they are not rich for the peace of mind is not sold anywhere

no they are not rich for they are never satisfied

no they are not rich for they live fake lives

i guess the rich with money are mostly poor

  4. ” I guess rich with money are mostly poor ” – I liked the last line the most. It’s a harrowing fact how people get deceived by the Outward appearances . Those who look happy are not always happy since money can never buy happiness. I liked this poem !

  5. A Princeton researcher who won the Nobel prize actually proved that money when spent in the right way can increase people’s level of happiness. It’s a myth that people who are rich are unhappy. people are unhappy or happy despite their level of income after a certain point. Entrepreneurs also make the most money of all people and studies show that they are also significantly a lot happier than everyone else. not a causation, but it is a correlation.

I actually meant the majority of the people… I a sure you are right in saying that money has nothing to do beyond a point to keep a person happy or unhappy… Thanks a lot for your comments always..

      2. I guess I am inspired to write so for I have seen a lot of people around me being not satisfied with their lives.. the reasons could be anything.. Many movies, articles, and facts about celebrities also state the same many a times…

      4. money and happiness is so tricky isn’t it? I think people’s lack of financial education and psychology of happiness makes people make poor decisions with money that lead to unhappy situations.
