embracing my wrinkles
fine lines around these eyes
took a lifetime
to earn

for them
am adept
patient
my manner sophisticated
for them
am wise
trained
liberated

power lies in me
to what these wrinkles suggest

a little of my age
or many of my triumphs

  3. Reminded me of the book “A Picture of Dorian Grey” I for one, am glad that my life shows on my face. It reminds me when I look in the mirror of the long road I am traveling that there are rocky spots and smooth down hills where I can go “whee! all the way down, with the joy of living!
