Love Blogging to Live it

Love Blogging to Live it

Here is a scenario –

I started to blog a month back. I have been putting in a lot of time and effort into my blog. I have had sleepless nights and my mind is completely occupied all the time thinking about what to write and how make people come to my blog and read my posts.

Even after so much of effort, there don’t seem to be enough visitors and views on my posts! I have been trying to read a lot to improve upon the same. I read tips offered by experienced bloggers and I genuinely follow them too. Still, not much happening.

I guess, I am going to give up now. I don’t know if blogging is for me. I am really unsure and upset and don’t know how to carry on any further.

Do you relate to the above situation? Have you been feeling low because of not receiving a response as per your expectations on your blog?

If the answer is yes, then I must suggest – Do NOT Give Up on Your Blog.

It is sometimes difficult to establish yourself in the world of blogging and if you have bigger dreams to take your blogs to a high level, please keep trying. Few tips are here which may be helpful :-

  1. Value reader’s time. Keep your posts not too long for the reader to loose interest.
  2. Use effective and attractive titles for your posts.
  3. Images too have a great impact on readers, so try to do a little research to get the best images for your posts.
  4. Keep reading and following tips from other experienced bloggers.
  5. Make use of Community Pool. Read and leave your comments every Monday on their post to increase viewership on your blog.
  6. Reach out to other’s blogs and leave your comments and links to your blog.
  7. Follow other bloggers and leave your link on their blogs and invite them over.
  8. Never leave hope. Never give up.
  9. Believe that Blogging is for you and you are for Blogging.

Love it to Live it!

Apologies & Gratitude

Apologies & Gratitude

Hi everyone!

Today I am writing to apologize to all of you. I have not been reading your blogs lately. In fact I have not been reading at all. There is a lot going on at my end and that is keeping me away from my love of reading and writing.

I have not been writing anything new except for the daily prompts and have only been posting my previously published posts. There seem to be dullness in the air around and nothing seems to be moving. All I am doing now a days on WP is scheduling a few of my older posts and replying back to your beautiful comments. There had been a death in the extended family and that too has its effect showing. Not feeling too well in terms of health and need to get a few things checked at the medical center.

Despite all the above, I am pushing myself to keep going. And believe me, YOU have helped me so much with that. I am sure you know that I am not reading your blogs at all now a days, still you all are reading all the previous posts that I schedule to be published. All you beautiful souls are liking and commenting to praise my posts and encouraging me to write more. Your love is pure as no one has come back telling me that I am not reading their posts. I have always said and felt during my blogging journey that support is the key that opens the doors to our success and connection with each other. With tears in my eyes, I want to accept that I have not been too much of a support to you guys lately. I have failed for a while and YOU are still supporting me. I feel that you all understand me so well now. I am sure this phase in my life will go and I will get back on track soon. I will be back in action, reading and enjoying your beautiful posts and giving my thoughts on the same.

Thank you all. I wish there were few more beautiful words in my dictionary to tell you how much your support and love means to me and how you have helped me always.

Strong Bloggers & what Success means to them

Strong Bloggers & what Success means to them

It’s been 4 months and 20 days into the blogging world. In this time, I have seen and learnt many things about people and their blogging way. I have tried to understand other people’s perspectives, I have learnt many new things about different places and cultures, have seen stunning photography and read beautiful poems and articles.

During this amazing journey, I have seen the following kind of bloggers –

  1. Who are already considered successful.
  2. Who have reached a stage where they can relax a little for they know, they are doing reasonable and will reach the stage where they call themselves successful.
  3. The ones who are still struggling to understand their way to the success.

Now, when I think deep, I ask myself that it is even important to be a successful blogger? And what exactly would success mean here in the world of blogging?

Then I tried to answer the question myself. Here, there is nothing like being successful or not successful. All that matters here is to be a Strong Blogger. The one who keeps writing and fighting, the one who offers help to others when they need it, the one who can inspire others with his/her posts, the one who is daring to write the truth and is bold enough to face criticism, the one who is influential the positive way, the one who is writing for a cause, the one who is trying to create awareness, the one who is taking out time to appreciate others and encourage them.

This deep insight encouraged me to create the Blogger’s Pool which extends appreciation and support that all of us need. A place where we can meet other beautiful bloggers and appreciate their work.

Today, I want to take pride in saying that I want to be a  STRONG BLOGGER. I want to spread happiness around. I want to find out a way to connect people to each other. I just want to support everyone around with my words. My Strength is my Success!

Do you also feel that it’s the best way to blog! Please leave your comments to express your views.

Blogging Happiness

Blogging Happiness

What is our ultimate goal in life? Is it money, comforts, education, fame, family, success…

The list may never end. People who have all or some of the above may be happy or still be unhappy in their lives. Sometimes, people who don’t have most or little of the above may still know how to remain as happy as they can be.

So, the ultimate goal in our lives is being happy.

Playing with a child, telling them bedtime stories and listen to them giggling, fresh flowers in the garden, flawless clouds in the sky, having a meal with our family, being together and supporting each other, bringing a smile to a stranger’s face, writing, painting, singing, dancing, holding hands and much more. All these things can give us little peace and happiness.

We all have responsibilities in life and it is not easy to handle the kind of pressure we have in our lives, but we still can try and ease the stress by not ignoring the simple things and making the best use of them to keep us cheered up.

Greed is one thing that kills our happiness. When we always keep wanting more and are never satisfied with what we have, makes us unhappy. We forget to enjoy and relish what we possess and keep urging for more.

Even after having a lot of money, education and fame, people tend to remain dissatisfied in their lives. Many celebrities are a good example of the same. We tend to run after material things in our life and in the end remain unhappy because we are not able to value the small things that can make us happy.

Now, let’s see what blogging can give us –

  1. Blogging is one thing that gives us happiness. It may or may not give us money or fame but we feel connected with each other even if sitting continents away.
  2. We are able to express ourselves on such a fantastic platform.
  3. We receive and give support to each other that gives us pleasure and contentment.
  4. We are happy publishing our work and reading other’s.

At the end of the day, blogging can give us a little or more happiness and makes us a positive person. It makes us strong and inspires us which leads to happiness and self contentment.

So guys, keep blogging, enjoy tiny things in life and stay happy, healthy and blessed!

Love you all!

from My Blog to OUR Blogs

from My Blog to OUR Blogs

I am a changed person since the time I started to blog. I am not just for myself anymore. I am for everyone around me and it gives me satisfaction.

5 months into blogging and it’s been an amazing journey so far. A journey that includes all sort of following experiences :-

  1. Learning from each other
  2. Getting inspired by the fellow bloggers
  3. Sharing mine and other’s experiences
  4. Receiving support and offering the same to others
  5. Low days with no posts
  6. Days full of energy and enthusiasm
  7. Stats booming up breaking previous record
  8. Not bothered about the stats sometimes
  9. Reaching the 100, then 200 and then 500 followers benchmark
  10. Writing 1000 posts on mySestina

and so on…..

It has been a tremendous journey so far.

The best thing to happen to me is that I truly have fallen in love with my blog and my fellow bloggers. I am not just for my blog anymore. I am for everyone else around too. I see new comers struggling through their initial days of blogging. And, I have now started to believe in helping and supporting each other. It seems to be a better way to nourish and to be nourished. Valuing people who value you is the most important thing in life.

I have now started to offer support to all my fellow bloggers and you must have noticed the same in my posts lately. I do the same by doing the following :-

  1. Sharing my approach towards blogging with others
  2. Listening to other’s experience of their journey so far
  3. Offering tips based upon a little success that I have achieved
  4. Offering to share other’s posts and their blogs on mySestina

Again, I am not saying that all of you may agree or disagree with me on this approach. I still believe in spreading love and support. I believe in connecting with my fellow bloggers the human way.

I love you all and I hope that you will love me back too!

I Want my Enthusiasm back – mySestina

I Want my Enthusiasm back – mySestina

Hello beautiful people…

Today, I am going to write something different. You may have noticed me not being really active on WP for the past few days. I am just not myself for some reason. The enthusiasm is not there and I am unable to understand the reason behind the same.

Since the day I started to blog, I have remained really active and have always felt inspired by blogging and have tried to give my best. I have always genuinely read the posts of my fellow bloggers who I am following. I really have given a lot of time to blogging (only for except a few instances when I was busy with something else).

But this time it’s different. My enthusiasm seems to be not the same. I am not writing new poems or articles. I am not being able to read your beautiful posts and even if I have time, I just do not login to the WordPress. I have not written anything on the daily prompt for the past 2 days as well.

Could you please let me know if you too have experienced something similar ever. If yes, then please share it with me because I need your help to understand the reason behind me being like this.

I am really hoping that this is a temporary thing and that it will go. I want to be inspired again and it seems that it will take some effort. I have really loved blogging and have always enjoyed the support and love of all my fellow bloggers. I want to stay positive. I want to come back with the same force….

I want my enthusiasm back!

‘WE’ angels… against Terrorism

‘WE’ angels… against Terrorism

as i revealed that i was an angel, they told me otherwise

prompted me to let my divinity vanish

urging me to loose my purity

tortured me with fire and ice

as they pulled out my nails in a hurry

i screamed in pain, as i bled

they thought their cruelty were winning

they laughed harder and harder

making fun of my innocence

poor them, i thought as i stood up

looking them into the eye

announcing the power of humanity

the power of belief in peace

i told them, i would rather give my life

over their offering to taker other’s

i shall remain an angel forever

who wins over terrorism

mySestina’s blogging secrets

mySestina’s blogging secrets

Could I share my secrets for the stats in the picture above?

Could you please share this post as much as possible in order to help the existing members and the new comers to the blogging community.

I complete 4 months in the blogging world today and believe me, I have relished every second of my time that I spent on WordPress.

As a newcomer, we all have our questions, hesitations and we strive to learn, to grow, to have more followers, to have more likes and visibililty for our blogs.

Let me share my understanding of how to achieve a little extra on your blog.

  1. Enjoy blogging. Writing must only be done when you enjoy it to the core. We must not write forcefully as the forced writing has no charm and beauty in it.
  2. Speak your heart out and let the world know how you feel through your glorious posts.
  3. Try to post at least one post everyday (if you can).
  4. Connect and maintain relationships with fellow bloggers. Read their blogs. Support them and show them your love by liking and commenting on their posts.
  5. Stay motivated. Never loose hope if your posts are not getting more visibility. Determination is something that will make you climb up the ladder.
  6. Try to look out for the time of the day when you are publishing your post. Do a little research as to which time works best for you to get you more traffic as per your country and time zone.
  7. Use impressive and appealing pictures for your posts. Make sure that the pictures go well with your writing.
  8. Enjoy and celebrate little achievements with fellow bloggers. 100 followers, 100 days of blogging, 100 posts published and so on. This keeps us motivated and helps to get more traffic as people want to learn how you did that.

I promise you that each one of us here are beautiful people. We love each other in a unique way. We are a big family here and we tend to care for each other. We must inspire each other, we must share other’s pain and offer our words of support when required. And, we must keep writing!

Let me thank you for your support and love that has made me walk my path this far.

Let us all hold each other’s hands and walk together to achieve much more!

Wow Benefits of Blogging

Wow Benefits of Blogging

Blogging is indeed inspiring. This must be true for most of us. The world is full of talented people and everyone does not get an opportunity to present their potential. People don’t call you an author or a writer unless they see your work being published. True?

It helps the following ways –

Genuine Publicity – That’s where blogging plays a crucial role. It gives a platform to an ordinary person like me to express my thoughts and present them to the world. How we get a lot of publicity for free. People genuinely follow and read your posts. “Yay! I am an author now officially. My works is published and has reached a lot of people. ” An absolutely out of this world feeling, isn’t it?

Building Relationships – How is it like to know a lot of like minded people and be fascinated with their work and to impress them with your work at the same time? We get to know each other as a person through our writing in the blogging world. It builds a strong relationship between bloggers. We follow blogs which are of our interest and hence it is to the point as well. Have you ever thought how wonderful would it be to meet our fellow bloggers with whom we exchange thoughts everyday!

Supporting a Cause –  When we feel strongly towards something, we want to voice out our opinion and it only matters if it reaches other people. It is very important to bring change in the society. It’s been said rightly that a pen is powerful than a sword. We can always try to help the society and this world with positive energy being spread around or by standing against negativity. It gives us a feeling of being a part of change to support a cause.

Emotional Support – Blogging helps on the emotional front as well. It gives us to express our pain and happiness without revealing our identity (if we may choose to). Believe me, just one nice comment from someone can lighten your mood. Sharing experiences and getting valuable comments from others helps a lot to learn and grow as a person.

Inspirational – Blogging is indeed inspirational. We get inspired by thousands of ideas floating around. Many a times, I pick up ideas to write on from my fellow blogger’s posts. Gives us perspectives that we haven’t even thought about.

Learning – Do we learn from blogging? What do we learn? Well I must say – A Lot. I tend to learn the beautiful writing style from others. I learn from their views and thoughts. I try to enhance my knowledge from their experiences. I learn from their photographs. I become a more knowledgeable and better person.

There is so much more that the blogging world has to offer us and help us in many ways. Please share your views how you think and feel free to add to the list of the benefits of blogging.

Cheers!

Want more followers? Are you treating the existing ones well?

Want more followers? Are you treating the existing ones well?

No doubt we all want more and more people to follow our blogs. The urge to make our thoughts to reach maximum number of people through our posts is within each one of us.

The question is, are we doing enough to make that happen? Are we doing justice to the people who are following us? Are we giving them enough attention they deserve?

To have more followers, we must appreciate the existing ones. Believe me, the word spreads! People talk to each other and they praise the blogs they like. This is how we get more attention and more followers.

There are a few very important things that need to be kept in mind:-

  1. Build a strong relationship with your followers.
  2. Always reply to their valuable comments.
  3. Try to read as much as you can of their posts and show your love through your comments.
  4. Appreciation is the key. We must appreciate each other’s ideas and offer our support.
  5. Try to follow your followers posts and be genuine. They must never feel neglected.
  6. Always thank your followers for their support and show them that you do care for them as well.
  7. Loving each other like a family is very important. After all, we are all a part of this blogging community.

Remember, we are nothing without our followers, hence we must value their dedication towards us.

Those are mySestina thinking about how we must treat our followers and fellow bloggers. You may add to the above and come up with your suggestions, based upon your experiences.

Ready, to get more followers? Ready to grow together?

celebrate tears

Yes I cry , sometimes I do

it sure

doesn’t make me weak

yes I cry, from happiness too

sometimes

I need a break

these tears

give me the power

to flush my sorrows, hatred & pain

I forgive, forget, gather back myself

start to walk

my path again

my fear – through the path of life

my fear – through the path of life

the path of life
has made me worth
has made me wise
falls were many
scarce was delight
at times it got too much
was just about to give up
in that moment
I gave myself an advice
there’s no fun in failing
so I stood up to fight
my biggest fall ever
made me rise
rise enough
to reach new heights
for there’s one thing
I left behind forever
my fear

the more of you in me

the more of you in me

the more I see you
the more I need you

the more I need you
the more I want you

the more I want you
the more I need to hold you

hold you in my arms
hold you in my breath
hold you in my eyes
hold you in my thoughts
hold you in my dreams
hold you in my desire

the more I hold you
the more I fall
in love with you

Feeling Inspired or Jealous of other Bloggers!

Feeling Inspired or Jealous of other Bloggers!

I am looking at the stats of my fellow bloggers. The numbers obviously are way much better than mine. I ask myself, why do I not have such great numbers. Why do my posts don’t get as many likes as other’s posts get. I even do a bit of a research on their blog.

Thinking of the same, I could feel in 2 possible ways :-

  1. Inspired
  2. Jealous

If I choose option 1, I could feel inspired to achieve the same for my blog. This is a healthy approach. It would help my blog to grow without a doubt. I will try to learn the strategy and the pattern looking at other’s blogs. I will try to incorporate things that I see them doing and work towards my numbers to boom up.

Option 2, will surely take me nowhere. Rather than trying to rise myself, I will try to find out ways to put other’s blog down. I could do anything depending upon my capabilities, but it surely will have a negative impact on my blog too. I will start to waste my time rather than utilizing it for a better purpose.

So, my dear friends, the choice is ours. To feel Inspired or being Jealous.

Let us all choose the healthy option to achieve more in life and to help others at the same time.

Trying to find Love in Blogging (in all of YOU)

Sometimes, we just get tired of the situations, no matter how hard we try, things just don’t seem to work. I am writing this post with tears in my eyes, not able to understand the fate and the destiny. Failing to find love in life, right from the beginning, right from the childhood, love deprived teenage, and the story continued..

Now, trying to find love in blogging. With all your beautiful comments, words of inspiration, things you say that bring a smile to my face even when I am in my worst of the moods. Your love inspires me to keep going. All your encouraging words tell me to fight and never give up. I feel as if you all are just by my side, holding my hand, telling me softly – “It will work out dear, please don’t up.”

Nurture your Blog – the smart way

Nurture your Blog – the smart way

We all want to see our blogs growing. More readers, more followers, more likes and a lot of traffic. Most of us love blogging, that’s why we are here. We start to enjoy the blogging world and in a way our blog becomes really precious to us, as if it is our baby. But, a baby needs to be nurtured properly to grow and to be good at the things he or she needs to learn.

Now, how do we nurture our baby blog to make it a successful big blog?

The answer is very simple.. by following good and smart practices. Let me point out a few here with respect to making use of the Community Pool and Daily Prompt Post by WordPress

  1. Make use of the Community Pool’s post every Monday.
  2. Leave your link in the comments section and a brief description of your site.
  3. Publish your best post right after leaving a comment on Community Pool’s post to let people take interest in your blog and are encouraged to follow you.
  4. Go through the comments of other bloggers there and invite them to your blog.
  5. Follow their sites as per your interest, try to read their posts and leave comments to show your dedication.
  6. Try to make use of the Daily Prompt post everyday. Write a post with respect to the prompt and link it to the Daily Prompt site. This could attract a lot of readers to your site.
  7. Try to keep the title to your post very interesting to gain immediate attention.
  8. Being positive is the key. Stay connected and support others in order to receive their support.

Hope this helps! I wish you all a lot of contentment with respect to your blogging experience.

Cheers!

How many followers you gained in the past 7 days and How?

How many followers you gained in the past 7 days and How?

Let’s play a game..

Answer these 2 simple questions –

  1. How many new followers you gained in the past 7 days?
  2. Why do you think they followed you?

The answer to the second question will make you think and observe closely as to why people follow you, what is it that made them follow you and you can work in the direction of achieving more followers in a powerful way.

Start doing what works best for you. You are the best judge to your blog!

Why Embrace Criticism on WordPress?

Why Embrace Criticism on WordPress?

We can not expect everyone to understand and agree with our view points and hence criticism is obvious at each step of our lives. What does criticism do to us in the blogging world is completely in our own hands.

We publish here on WordPress and people come back with their valuable comments and suggestions. Now, the same could be in agreement or disagreement.

We could choose to let the criticism destroy our good mood or we could choose to have a debate and try to explain our point to get the other person thinking. Giving a few examples to support our thoughts is always helpful. There is still no guarantee that the other person will get impressed, which is absolutely fine and must be taken in a healthy manner. We must be open to understand the other person’s point of view as well.

Now that was healthy criticism. There is another form of criticism that many of us may have faced here on WordPress. This is something that does not allow you to debate or do anything about it. Frankly speaking, I fail to understand this kind.

I will give you a live example. There is someone who has been commenting on my posts in an unacceptable way. Saying filthy things which are completely out of the context. This person has even gone to an extent to create a website with a name similar to mine (mySestina) and has been commenting bad things. He/She has also commented through other names and I know it is the same person as I have the IP address for their computer.

The question is whether do I get affected by such behavior? Well, my answer is NO. I simply choose to not respond to such comments as I don’t believe in killing my good self for someone who doesn’t even understand their own purpose. They are simply wasting their time to upset others rather than utilizing it for their own good. I personally feel that they don’t even deserve my attention and time.

Hence, whether is criticism is healthy or not, we must choose to not let it disturb us in any way. We must remain calm in both the cases and should embrace the same to become a better person. It obviously makes us a person with a better control over our emotions!

How do you feel? I welcome you all to share your views on criticism.

Dear Reader, did you just unfollow me?

Dear Reader, did you just unfollow me?

Hey Guys!!

There are times when I see the number of followers going down than going up and I wonder who must have unfollowed my blog.

It brings to my mind, what made him/her do so?

  1. Were they not happy with my posts?
  2. Were they bored and not getting anything interesting to read on my blog?
  3. Were they just irritated by the flood of posts on my blog?
  4. Did I post something which may have hurt them in some way?

And, then I start to think that I must find out the reason. It is important for me to know if I have hurt someone or irritated someone in any possible way and I would like to correct that.

So, would you please give me a chance to correct my unintentional mistakes and be kind to let me know in case you plan to unfollow my blog?

I would do anything to make sure that you stay with me. You are important to me and we are all a part of a big family and I surely wouldn’t want to lose any of my dearest Readers.

I am for my readers. I am where I am, for my readers. I love my readers.

Dear Fellow Bloggers – mySestina has fallen in Love with YOU

Dear Fellow Bloggers – mySestina has fallen in Love with YOU

My dear fellow bloggers!

This post today is very special and close to my heart. I am going to share a little about my blogging journey and how it has changed me to become a better person with love and support from all you amazing souls. I promise, to keep it as short as possible.. wink..

As I started my blogging journey 3 months back, I clearly I had a motto which was completely different from what my motto is today. Three months back, I meant to have more number of likes, more comments on my posts and more followers.

That time, I wrote this post Motto of We Bloggers. Please take some time to read through it.

Today, after receiving such tremendous response from all of you, I have reached a stage where my Motto as as blogger is not just to reach your computer screens, it is now to reach your hearts.

When you follow me so genuinely, it drives me to bring a smile to your face. It drives me to share your pain and ease you in your rough days. YOU, drive me to become a better person, a person who is in love with all of you. A person who has started taking pleasure in investing time to write posts everyday to reach to you, to say a little hello, to read your beautiful comments.

Love, clearly changes the definition of our expectations. It makes us a different person who is no more selfish and is more giving.

I take pride today to announce how glad I am to be a part of this wonderful blogging community. How happy I feel to be connected to all of you and to be a part of such a wonderful family where all of us have actually started to care for each other.

Believe me my friends, the credit goes to YOU.

With tears of love and joy in my eyes, I want to say THANK YOU.

Gender Equality? Who am I fooling!

Gender Equality? Who am I fooling!

Yes, I fool myself. Many times. You know when?

Every time, I tell myself women are equal to men. Equal rights, no salary discrimination, same education blah blah !! Who am I fooling? Am I not that smart to understand! Yes, I am, but not in their eyes. Sigh!!

It all starts at home. For many women in many countries around the world, they shall never get what they deserve. They shall never be treated even close to the kind of treatment men would get.

SHE is a she, so she will only cook,

SHE is a she, so she will only clean,

SHE is a she, she is born to do the laundry,

SHE is a she, so only she will take care of the babies

while her husband will peacefully sit and sip on his coffee

(Coffee that SHE prepared for him) and the list for SHE never ends

She is considered to be not so smart (not enough as HIM). I fail to understand WHY!!

And the journey once started at home, continues to spread it’s effects on life outside the four walls. Here, she will be considered not working as hard as men, she will be scanned for her clothes everyday at work. She will be expected to create trouble for the employers after marriage, because she could get pregnant anytime and blah blah!!

Although, there may be changes coming, yet I can only and only dream a world where men and women both are considered HUMANS.. only then they shall be treated EQUAL.

Don’t cry like GIRLS!

Don’t cry like GIRLS!

Don’t cry like GIRLS!

Often boys are told this. Just one sentence that has such a heavy and dark meaning to it. Are we are telling our boys that girls are weak? Are we telling are girls that they are not strong enough?

This is such a sexist statement, that girls and boys often grow up listening to. Aren’t we not preparing our generations to become what we ourselves criticize. Telling the boys that they can man handle the girls when they want to. Assuring the girls that they always need someone to protect them.

We don’t realize but many things that we put into the minds of our children leads to changes in the society. It’s all on us how to raise them. Whether we want to nurture them with good practices or we want to lead them to a weak and filthy future.

Somewhere deep down, when we give it a thought, we understand that such statements encourage the bigger problems to come challenge us in future. The dark reality of eve teasing and rapes starts to haunt us starting from the four walls.

I pledge not to raise my children with such sexist statements to contribute towards what little I can do for the society.

After all, it’s a matter of our children’s future!

sexual abuse = terrorism? yes! because the haunting never ends

sexual abuse = terrorism? yes! because the haunting never ends

Can we term Sexual abuse as terrorism?

My vote goes to say YES!! You want to ask why??

Because it has the capacity to terrorize the victim, fill them with grief and puts them into a state of mind which requires a lot of effort to come out of. Sexual abuse is been experienced by many children and I don’t think there is a way to find out the numbers, as most of the victims choose not to disclose it.

It is sad that a girl accepts the life where she is challenged everyday with sexual abuse out in the open. On the road – walking, in a bus – travelling, sitting alone in a park and many other places. She starts to think that those idiots have a sad frame of mind and she will have to deal with it and hence, she prepares herself which she must but the right way to deal with the problem is to deal with the culprits in a strict manner.

I have experienced it and there are many more like me. It could happen anywhere, be it home or outside. Everyday, using the local transport in New Delhi, made me so easily accessible for all those sick idiots. They would just stand close, giving an excuse that the bus is too crowded. They would rub their body against wherever they could get access to you. Their filthy looks and such shameless attitude.

The abuse can be intensive or not too intensive, yet, it leaves a mark on your mind never to be washed away. It kills you from the inside every moment.

Even till date, when I think of those days when I faced the abuse, I get goosebumps.

The question in my mind now is – how are my daughters going to face it? A challenge that haunts me!!

Your Majesty – Burj Khalifa

Your Majesty – Burj Khalifa

Standing right next to it and looking at the endless number of floors with the ones at the top, touching the sky. It’s an experience. And I was fortunate to make that experience mine. A dazzling piece of architecture and beauty with a strong foundation.

31st December 2015, the final hours of the countdown. Thousands of tourists had flown to Dubai to see the most spectacular fireworks in the world. People gathering around Burj Khalifa. Eating dinner, having drinks in the most plush restaurants in the world. And suddenly, fire erupts in the building (The Address), spreading at the speed of light. There was a lot of disturbance and it was all over the news.

We were planning on to go see the fireworks and this sad news made us glued to our tv screens watching The Address on fire, live. There were firefighters at the location and the Prince of Dubai was one of them.

Now, only a few minutes left for the New Year to arrive and the building is still on fire. The dilemma was would there be any fireworks or not. I personally was not in favor as I felt the fire was a very sad thing to happen and we must not celebrate to support the victims.

But, they thought differently and right when the clock struck 12, it started. The Proud Burj Khalifa came alive. Colorful lights sparkling around it, and it was one of the most dazzling thing I had ever seen.

Later on, as I dug deeper and thought about their decision to go ahead with the fireworks, to celebrate when others are in pain. What I came to conclude was that I was not completely correct. The perspective of going ahead with the fireworks was not to celebrate over others grief, it was to celebrate life which was still living and hoping.

The proud grand Burj Khalifa stood there and celebrated life. Distributed colors amongst the people who chose to stand there and wait. People who were scared and sad with the fire incident, yet they decided to witness the royal beauty. People who believed in themselves, believed in life. People who promised themselves to bring back life to The Address building just a little later.

Now this is what I call courage and I salute it. And  I am happy to be proven wrong.

Chemistry of We Bloggers

Chemistry of We Bloggers

Yeylow Bloggers!!

Guess what I am here with today! A sequel to the  Journey of We Bloggers &  Motto of We Bloggers.

Today, let’s conclude with the Chemistry of We Bloggers!

As the name suggests, this post is completely dedicated to all the fellow bloggers around.

The journey of writing a post, publishing it and achieving attention are very important aspects of our blogging lives. Now, comes the best and the most important part. It is building chemistry amongst fellow bloggers. All of us have followers and friends and it’s amazing how we share a relationship with them.

This is no ordinary thing. It is rather an achievement to be able to build a chemistry with people we have never seen, never met, people who are not known to us, we don’t even know each other’s names mostly, yet how we connect with each other making no mistakes.

We have the power to make each other smile, bring happiness to each other with our support. Isn’t it wonderful? To me, it most certainly is! How we click with each other, how we just understand each other’s writings and photographs, how it soothes us and brings us peace. I have made many relationships here and they must be smiling while reading this, because they understand that I am referring to them. The same way you could relate to your group of followers and bloggers.

We are simply nothing without each other. It is our unity, our chemistry that makes us special. A single fish can never survive in an ocean. It has to build a family. Stay with other fish, support them and be a part of the group.

So guys, hats off to our Chemistry. I am so proud of all my fellow bloggers and I truly appreciate their effort and time to make all of us survive and thrive for the best.

In the name of our combined efforts – Cheers to the Chemistry of We Bloggers!

Yippeyyyyy!!!

Journey of we Bloggers

Journey of we Bloggers

Yeyllow! What’s up!

I decide to write a Prequel to Motto of We BloggersThe journey for we bloggers with each post that we write.

First thing, you know what? An idea to grab my attention. I know what I am going to write about today. Oh man, I guess this is going to be simply amazing.

Does this go through your mind as well? Well, with me it does. And now presenting the next step, which is – Writing. Now! that comes with a lot of imagination. Sometimes, we take a long time to write a post and sometimes less. Depends really on our mood and the availability of time. Sometimes, we just write what we are feeling in that particular moment and that comes out really well mostly! Maybe because, those are the true emotions of the moment.

Already!! Let’s move ahead. The writing part is done. Now what? Well, give it an appearance. Open Mr. Google and look for a perfect picture for your post. This one is OK, I guess, O no wait! I guess this is better or will this be more interesting?!.. and till the time we find the best picture to match with our post, we keep troubling  Google Uncle.

Alright, now i have found the picture as well. What do i do now? Hmmm, let me fill in the categories and a few tags for the post. This was easy.. I am done with that too… now do I hit the publish tab?

O no wait! let me proof read the post. Let me check for any changes or any sort of grammatical errors, spell checks. Is the language looking right? Guess, all is in place. Now, can i publish it? Should I? Hmm, guess, I will go and hit the publish tab.

There, I hit the PUBLISH tab…

The after story has already been presented to you.. check out Motto of We Bloggers if you haven’t yet!!

This is an every time journey for all we bloggers with each post that we write. But the best part is that we never get tired of it. In fact, we love it, we live every moment of it.

Hope you all can relate to the experience. Please drop your suggestions for any additions to make this experience even more interesting.

Cheers to Blogging!! Cheers to Bloggers!!

Motto of We Bloggers!

Motto of We Bloggers!

Ola !! Ola !!

To all the bloggers like me who are trying to establish a name, trying to give a sense of surety to give a good read to the readers. Digging deep to find those words to attract people!

“You come visit my blog and I promise to give you my best”. Our motto! Some may like what i write, some may not but I still carry on, in search of more of them who gel well with me.

Writing brings pleasure to our souls and at the same time, being heard gives us a sense of contentment, isn’t it?

I wrote something, and someone somewhere READ it, the bonus is they hit the LIKE TAB and here comes the super bonus, they even took out time to write a COMMENT. Wait, it’s not over yet, the jackpot is yet to arrive when they hit the FOLLOW TAB! Well, well.. this is something that gives us pleasure. I accept it. Do you?

It’s a great community where I have seen people extending their support through suggestions and likes. We are all capable of inspiring each other. We are capable of making each other smile. It is an amazing feeling and I am glad I am a part of this Blogging World!

Thanks for reading!!

No one sees my Blog!

No one sees my Blog!

New to blogging? Do you feel the title of this post is meant for you?

It is tough to get attention, isn’t it! I can imagine all the bloggers (except for the ones who have many followers already) publishing their posts and waiting for the response.

Well, I guess even the response comes later, what comes first is the number of views. It could be heartbreaking for the beginners to not have views on their posts. What I have learnt from my little experience from the blogging world is that one needs to be patient for a while and persistent forever.

Don’t get disheartened and keep writing great posts and they will come find you and your talent!

Remember, its an ocean of people sitting and blogging and they gradually will start to fall into your net.

Happy blogging!  Keep blogging! Live blogging!

my failures Challenged !

my failures Challenged !

Life is full of challenges. Many of us go through hardships in life at some point. The urge to be heard and to have company in times of struggle is only human.

In times of trying, many of us have our own moments of failures in life. And! are we shy to share them?

Everyone’s favorite are the success stories. Why not come out with a few falls behind them. Let’s share every defeat, each failure that we may have faced in our lives. Let every fall be the beginning of a fresh effort.

Come, share your story with us and let’s hear what others have in store!

Remember, your story may teach a lesson to someone in need.

the story of Failure – the other way round

the story of Failure – the other way round

1st ever post on mySestina : Date April 6th 2016

———————–

Yeah!! All of them talk about the stories of success. We all have heard many of them.

And what about millions of those unsuccessful ones! Have we ever tried to listen to those too. The voice of so many of us never heard or thought about. Why is it only success that matters? Why not just accept the defeat as well and share it as a story.

It may not give us fame or the spotlight but it will make many of us start believing in ourselves. It will give a lot of us a boost of experience. Being not successful makes me common and I strongly feel its not as bad as we think it is. Not everyone can be a hero or a leader. Even a leader needs people to follow him. So, am I not playing an important role by not being a hero. My voice counts too, even if I just have a story of my failures to share.

So, I may be unsuccessful, but I am still alive and dreaming!

Come join the team, if you want to share your story. Leave a comment below!

Let’s speak up! Let’s face it boldly!

My Blog is my Baby – so we all feel!

My Blog is my Baby – so we all feel!

My Blog is my Baby! That’s how we all feel. Isn’t it!

We are in love with our blogs, it is something we are so close to, dearly in love with. We care for our blogs the way we care for our child. And that’s why we choose to do the following:

  • We nurture it with our thoughtful posts.
  • We want to give it time to grow and learn from others.
  • We want to take our blog to the next level and finally to heights just like we would aspire for our child to grow and be successful.

There is an enormous amount of time, effort and research that’s put to build a blog. It’s true! It requires a lot of patience too. We compromise on our sleep sometimes to think or to write about something close to our hearts. Worked on it sometimes, till our back starts to ache! Changed the sitting position to ease our body a little and still we didn’t stop staring at the screen. That’s the reality!!

Well, the blog too has something in store for us.

In return, it takes care of each one of us. It gives the us the pleasure of speaking our heart, it gives us all an opportunity to make ourselves heard, it gives us the satisfaction of being someone who is not lost, someone recognized, with an identity.

Together, we share the moments of success and low times. We inspire and console each other at the same time. We walk hand in hand.

That’s give and take and it has built a beautiful relationship between our blogs and us. I am sure each one of us would like to say one thing:-

“My blog is powerful and it has made ME so”

Cheers to the Love of Blogging!!

Congratulations! Your blog is growing!

Hey Guys!!

In continuation to the earlier post Motto of We Bloggers, this was something that I needed to share. Another wonderful and challenging experience of a blogger’s life. This is an everyday affair. A journey that most of us start everyday.

We sit in a train of thoughts and try to live through our journey. Many stations need to be crossed before the train stops finally at our destination. We keep thinking and writing and keep publishing our posts!

Do we know the best part yet! No? Well, we see our blog growing. Yay!! No matter what, slow or fast, the train of our thoughts leads us to our station. The number of views, the number of likes and followers have to grow with time.

For some, the train is slow and for some its a fast one, but we must keep writing. Remember, writing encourages us to be outspoken, it challenges us to keep raising issues that we feel need to be sorted, it keeps the flow of our blood paced with our thoughts penned down so we decide to continue.

We take the train everyday, travel a few miles, reach our stop and finally the numbers tell us these magical lines –

Congratulations!! Your Blog is Growing!!

New to Blogging? here are a few tips!

New to Blogging? here are a few tips!

The blogging world is amazing. It drives you, it challenges you and you strive to do more and more. I will be honest here. It’s not been too long since I started to blog, yet I feel that I have made certain observations that might help my fellow bloggers who are facing a challenge to keep up with their good work and need a little inspiration and support.

Here are a few of my observations and suggestions:-

  1. Stats and Content
    1. There may be days when the stats show high figures, and sometimes not so high. Please don’t be disheartened. You must your calm. People will come to your blog if you post good content.
  2. Publish 3 -4 posts every day
    1. Publish a minimum of 3-4 posts every day.
    2. Keep some time difference between all your posts.
    3. You might want to keep a track of different time zones on the world depending upon your target audience.
  3. Long and Short posts
    1. Try to keep your posts a little crisp to keep the audience with you till the end.
    2. This does not mean discouragement towards long posts, as it truly depends upon what information you are sharing.
  4. The title
    1. Try to give an eye-catching title to your post.
    2. People should be able to recognize the content with the title given.
    3. Remember, good content without a catchy title may be lost.
  5. Reblog your posts
    1. Try to reblog your posts after a few days. This may help you attract people who just started following you.
    2. Try not to reblog one post for more than 2-3 times. This may create loss of interest.
  6. Read other’s posts
    1. Writing comes with reading. You must read what other’s are writing.
    2. It will give you an insight of the hot topics.
    3. Knowledge is the key. It will have a good impact on your content from as you learn every time you read.
  7. Click likes and post comments as per your observations
    1. Appreciation is the key. It inspires the writer and the reader. Don’t forget to hit the ‘like’ tab if you like a post.
    2. Write comments as per your observations. Remember, your comments can attract new followers.

Well, these are my observations and suggestions.. Let me know in case you may have something to share.

Cheers!!

to the people in the USA

to the people in the USA

Back when i worked as a collection agent almost 16 years back. I am from India and I got a job with GE Capital International Services.

America was a dream country for me (it still is). Great people, better facilities, great roads, amazing restaurants, big universities and a lot more.

I was full of enthusiasm and energy. Ready to collect money due on the Car loans and JC Penney cards. As per my job requirements, I spoke to a lot of people in all the states in USA. People had different accents, backgrounds, interests. Most of them were friendly. They were all fun to talk to and nice.

With time, I realized a thing about many of them, that even if they wanted to pay, they could not take care of their bills. Single working mothers, big family to take care, lesser number of jobs, inflation were a few reasons behind their inability to make payments in time.

One big reason was, their jobs coming to India. The one that I was doing here in maybe 1/3rd of the salary they would have got in the US at that time.

When I spoke to them for payments, they asked me where was I from, and I had to tell them the truth. To my surprise, rather than being angry with me for taking the jobs from them, they told me good things that they heard about my country and how much they wanted to visit here (there were a very few instances when they sounded angry with me). I left the collections job after 2 years.

In 2012, I visited my aunt in New York (Eastchester) and I took my kids to Florida (The Disney World). I was so right about the people of the USA. They were all so ready to help, soft spoken, friendly and always wore a smile on their faces. I just loved all the 30 days that I spent seven seas away from my motherland!!

Thanks to all the people of America!! Hats off guys!!

We humans, always strive to be the best. As individuals, sometimes we make conscious effort to improve upon our skills, personality and over all development. But have you ever noticed, that we also constantly keep making subconscious efforts to become better and learn things from people and other available modes around us. We keep picking small habits from others that attract us in some way or the other.

Let me give a small example –

Kate is sixteen and has a friend Samantha who is liked by everyone else. Her way of walking, the way she talks, the way she holds a pen while writing, the way she laughs, the way she eats and many more small things. Kate is truly impressed by Samantha and hence she starts picking small habits from her and subconsciously starts practicing them in her life.

This happens basically because we continuously try to be what we think and feel is attractive to us. We make conscious and subconscious efforts to be better in our own way. This is a very healthy and easy way of becoming better. This requires no effort, no practice, no lessons at all. Comes naturally and quickly because we start to believe in it. Must be more commonly practiced during initial young years of our lives. But more or less, we keep following the rule all our lives.

Tell me, have you ever noticed yourselves being subconsciously inspired by someone or something? Powerful and interesting!! isn’t it?

‘World containing worlds’

What is the meaning of the word ‘World’? I guess when it was invented, it must have meant the map form of the earth. The land and water that it consisted. So, that was the world when it was invented. Correct me if I am thinking differently.

By the way, what does the word ‘World’ mean today? Now this one is a long story. I am aware of a million meanings of this word now. We tend to use it almost everywhere. i.e. the world of blog, the world of social media, the world of animals, the world of art and so on. I am sure, the list will never end.

Well, what we interpret out of this is our own choice, but what I am happy about is that we are able to have so much of diversity in using just one word in many different ways. This makes the world a beautiful place. Makes my world better, your world fantastic and the world a BIG World containing many worlds inside. Interesting!! I love this world.. do you?

There was a kiosk and it was all over the news.

We were planning on to go see the fireworks and this sad news made us glued to our tv screens watching The Address on fire live.

Colorful lights sparkling around it, and it was one of the most dazzling thing i have ever seen.

Later on, I dug deeper and thought about their decision to go ahead with the fireworks, to celebrate when others are in pain.

Your Majesty – Burj Khalifa

i inspire me

i inspire me

let the sun, burn my skin
let the nights be long
let the wind blow against my face
i decide to grow strong

let all the odds just hit on me
let me just have a fall
i’ll gather back all my strength
to stand up right and tall

i start my journey
to climb the mountain
at a slow and steady pace
will reach the top, the day will come
in my hands will i have my fate

that darkest moment

z

This is about a little girl who lost her father at the age of 7. She had a younger brother and their mom was just 25 when  this tragic thing happened. This girl and her brother hadn’t even realized how their world was going to change from then on. The struggle started in their lives.

Mother struggling to earn and take care of the children without any support. She struggled with her emotions as she was so deeply in love with her husband whom she had lost. She couldn’t cry tears of pain so that she would not make her children feel scared or weak.

The girl started to wonder why her mother had stopped putting on any makeup and why does she now always wears dull color clothes. She often ran to her mother with a lipstick and requested her to wear it. And her mother would refuse (back then, in a hindu family, a widow was not allowed to wear bright colors or any kind of makeup).

Then came a day, her mother told her that their father was coming back. That he was gone for a while and now he is returning. The girl knew in her heart, its not her father, its going to be her step father, but looking at the shine on her mother’s face, she kept quite. She was surely happy about something – that her mother would start wearing bright colors and wear a lipstick or a nail paint again.

Life after that was full of struggle. Much more than it was earlier.

Years passed, the girl was now 34. She had her own children now. One day, sitting next to her mom breastfeeding her baby, her mother spoke to share how she felt when she lost her husband.

It was the first time ever she talked about the same.

She said,

“Your father was a very nice man, he helped me with everything. He was working at a high level in an organization, the same company gave me a job after his death on the basis of his seniority. He had 2 heart attacks and the third one took his life. He was hospitalized for about a month and i used to visit him everyday in the morning after sending you and your brother to the school. But that day, that dark day, i just entered the elevator in the hospital and saw a nurse with whom i got familiar with in that past one month. I greeted the nurse good morning and usually she would she would greet me back the same. But that day, she replied back saying “don’t you know?”

The floor under my feet froze. I wanted to jump out through the half open door of the elevator. Few other people in the elevator stopped me.

That moment, that one moment was the most uncertain moment of my life. I could not consume, what had just happened. I had you and your  brother aged 7 and 5 and here I just lost my husband.”

The girl heard her mother talking her heart.

The irony of different perspectives brought tears to her eyes, that when her mother was going through the darkest moment of her life, as a child, she was busy thinking about why her mother would not wear any make up anymore!!

winters approaching & when they do!!

strained, through the net
of my bedroom window
the sun, now gentle and warm

breeze in the morning
getting colder
with each passing day

zeal in the air
embracing festivity
with arms wide open

exotic berries
peaches, grapes
soon to be relished

my mug of coffee
getting warm a little early
as I’m lost in my thoughts

imagining the beauty
of the Winters approaching

no one sees my blog!

no one sees my blog!

Its tough to get attention! I can imagine all the bloggers (except for the ones who have many followers already) publishing their posts and waiting for the response.

Well, I guess even the response comes later, what comes first is the number of views. It could be heartbreaking for the beginners to not get any less number of views on their posts. What I have learnt from my little experience from the blogging world is that one needs to be patient for a while and persistent forever.

Remember, its an ocean of people sitting and blogging their stuff on the social networking sites and I am sure, they will start to fall into your net.

Happy blogging!  Keep blogging! Live blogging!
