‘WE’ angels… against Terrorism

‘WE’ angels… against Terrorism

as i revealed that i was an angel, they told me otherwise

prompted me to let my divinity vanish

urging me to loose my purity

tortured me with fire and ice

as they pulled out my nails in a hurry

i screamed in pain, as i bled

they thought their cruelty were winning

they laughed harder and harder

making fun of my innocence

poor them, i thought as i stood up

looking them into the eye

announcing the power of humanity

the power of belief in peace

i told them, i would rather give my life

over their offering to taker other’s

i shall remain an angel forever

who wins over terrorism

their mind in a BOX

do my words sound golden to them

or are they even listening to what i say

are they in love, in their own fancy world

or are they pissed with me

they welcome, they reject

wisdom – with their own perceptions

not open to debate

not giving it a deep thought

either they cry or fill their hearts with rage

dealing with their mind in a box

conclusions never made

solutions never reached

say a little Prayer today

say a little Prayer today

say a little prayer today

say a few special words to the almighty

close your eyes, join your hands

connect yourself with the unseen

the power of someone guarding us

healing wounds of all kinds

God is a little shy to show himself

has chosen to be hid from all eyes

yet he made sure not to miss

someone somewhere saying a prayer

so let’s just take out a moment of peace

away from this world of fantasies

make time a little worthy to be spent

let’s just all of us

say a little prayer today

are Rich truly Rich!

are Rich truly Rich!

are they rich for they have wealth

are they rich for they own a lot of land

are they rich for they can buy all the comforts

are they rich for people bow to them

shall we put it the other way

are they truly rich for their money can’t buy them a smile

are they truly rich if they don’t care for the poor

are they truly rich for they spend sleepless nights

expensive mattress can’t buy them tension free sleep

shall we conclude it now

no they are not rich for the peace of mind is not sold anywhere

no they are not rich for they are never satisfied

no they are not rich for they live fake lives

i guess the rich with money are mostly poor

the TRAIN – a Journey containing Journeys

the TRAIN – a Journey containing Journeys

Every morning, I would take this train to work. It has a pretty good service and I don’t have to wait much if I missed one. The train, that takes me to work everyday. It arrives and I step in it. Well, I don’t have to make much of an effort for that, my fellow passenger crowd behind me are enough for the job. They just push me along and set me inside the train.

z

Now, I am in the train! I don’t get to sit as it is too crowded and the seats are already occupied by the ones who make a sincere effort to get one for themselves. I am not really bothered, I am happy standing holding one of those poles inside my coach.

I look around and see many people.

An old lady going to see the doctor because her knees are hurting and she couldn’t take the pain anymore. Well, she had to come alone because her children are all at work. Poor her! I thought.

Another woman with a child. Guess, she was going to drop the child to the playschool and then she would go to work. I thought so because she was dressed so.

Many other men and women either sitting or standing, waiting for their stop to arrive. Few of them have started to know each other because they travel together every day. Busy chatting and discussing about something that I am not aware of.

z.jpg

A group of college kids, looked so to me, cheerful and happy with their young age. Hanging their back bags laughing and enjoying the journey. Some of them reading newspapers.

Many people sitting or standing silently not aware of the person standing next to them as they are wearing earphones busy listening to something (I am not sure what they must be listening to though). It could be a song, some morning news or something. They occasionally nod their heads as well. I guess may be they liked the music they were listening to or just agreeing to a comment someone may have passed on some subject on radio. I am not sure!

Sometimes, I also see a group of transgender people travelling with us. They generally earn their bread by going to households where there is a new baby born. They would go and dance there, and would ask for an unimaginable amount of money. I am not sure if there are any other jobs for them in the market or they just simply choose to do this traditional work as it is much easier. I am no one to pass a judgement here.

This is a daily scene that I live while traveling in the train to work. The train takes people to their destinations, help them earn money and take care of their families, help them to aspire for more in life, becomes a part of each and every one of those thousands of people’s lives who travel in it every day.

The train that runs without fail everyday,

be it hot and sunny or raining outside,

be it pleasant with breeze or bitterly cold,

the train never stops, it goes on

some of us, take an off on some days,

but dedicated train shall run even on a Sunday,

the train I must say inspires each one of us,

the train, determined to serve the mankind

the train and its never ending journey

a mother journey that comprises

of many small baby journeys

traveled everyday!

The Train!

to tell them.. He is Gay

to tell them.. He is Gay

should he, should he not tell them

should today be the day of announcement

although it pained to think, why he had to

why couldn’t they just think it’s fine

society keeps blabbering their open mind

still they make him feel he is different

why is he scared of their reaction

honestly, why does he even need to care

why does he need to gather courage

to tell them He is Gay

and then he makes his decision

he is going to celebrate his individuality and his choices

no one has the right to take it away from him

for he is proud of who he is

he is no more shy or scared

to tell them He is Gay

Cheers!

Survivor I Am

Survivor I Am

I fell, I rose
the doors on my way
few open, few close
I was cold, sometimes I was warm
yet merciless struggle
could do my will no harm
looked back a few times
looked forward and climbed
the journey of my life
has taken, has given
it has challenged me
it has driven
success and failure
could neither charm ME
nor could they ever block
SURVIVOR I am, I never stopped

Gender equality? Who am i fooling!!

Gender equality? Who am i fooling!!

Yes, I fool myself. Many times. You know when?

Every time, I tell myself women are equal to men. Equal rights, no salary discrimination, same education blah blah !! Who am I fooling? Am I not that smart to understand! Yes, I am, but not in their eyes. Sigh!!

It all starts at home. For many women in many countries around the world, they shall never get what they deserve. They shall never be treated even close to the kind of treatment men would get.

SHE is a she, so she will only cook,

SHE is a she, so she will only clean,

SHE is a she, she is born to do the laundry,

SHE is a she, so only she will take care of the babies

while her husband will peacefully sit and sip on his coffee

(Coffee that SHE prepared for him) and the list for SHE never ends

She is considered to be not so smart (not enough as HIM). I fail to understand WHY!!

And the journey once started at home, continues to spread it’s effects on life outside the four walls. Here, she will be considered not working as hard as men, she will be scanned for her clothes everyday at work. She will be expected to create trouble for the employers after marriage, because she could get pregnant anytime and blah blah!!

Although, there may be changes coming, yet I can only and only dream a world where men and women both are considered HUMANS.. only then they shall be treated EQUAL.

sexual abuse = terrorism? yes! because the haunting never ends

sexual abuse = terrorism? yes! because the haunting never ends

Can we term Sexual abuse as terrorism?

My vote goes to say YES!! You want to ask why??

Because it has the capacity to terrorize the victim, fill them with grief and puts them into a state of mind which requires a lot of effort to come out of. Sexual abuse is been experienced by many children and I don’t think there is a way to find out the numbers, as most of the victims choose not to disclose it.

It is sad that a girl accepts the life where she is challenged everyday with sexual abuse out in the open. On the road – walking, in a bus – travelling, sitting alone in a park and many other places. She starts to think that those idiots have a sad frame of mind and she will have to deal with it and hence, she prepares herself which she must but the right way to deal with the problem is to deal with the culprits in a strict manner.

I have experienced it and there are many more like me. It could happen anywhere, be it home or outside. Everyday, using the local transport in New Delhi, made me so easily accessible for all those sick idiots. They would just stand close, giving an excuse that the bus is too crowded. They would rub their body against wherever they could get access to you. Their filthy looks and such shameless attitude.

The abuse can be intensive or not too intensive, yet, it leaves a mark on your mind never to be washed away. It kills you from the inside every moment.

Even till date, when I think of those days when I faced the abuse, I get goosebumps.

The question in my mind now is – how are my daughters going to face it? A challenge that haunts me!!

tomorrow never comes

tomorrow never comes

today i decide to bring a smile to you

today i decide to fill excitement in you

today i decide to inspire you a little

shall i tell a story, or ask you a riddle

today i decide to read what you write

let’s go to the rooftop, shall we fly a kite

come a little closer, let’s kiss each other

let’s sit together chat for a little while

aren’t we missing each other

aren’t we loosing time

shall we do it all today, not wait for tomorrow

for i have seen, i have learnt

sometimes leaving us puzzled

tomorrow never comes

Your Majesty – Burj Khalifa

Your Majesty – Burj Khalifa

Standing right next to it and looking at the endless number of floors with the ones at the top, touching the sky. It’s an experience. And i was fortunate to make that experience mine. A dazzling piece of architecture and beauty with a strong foundation.

31st December 2015, the final hours of the countdown. Thousands of tourists had flown to Dubai to see the most spectacular fireworks in the world. People gathering around Burj Khalifa. Eating dinner, having drinks in the most plush restaurants in the world. And suddenly, fire erupts in the building (The Address), spreading at the speed of light. There was a kiosk and it was all over the news.

We were planning on to go see the fireworks and this sad news made us glued to our tv screens watching The Address on fire live. There were firefighters at the location and the Prince of Dubai was one of them.

Now, only a few minutes left for the New Year to arrive and the building is still on fire. The dilemma was would there be any fireworks or not. I personally was not in favor as I felt the fire was a very sad thing to happen and we must not celebrate to support the victims.

But, they thought differently and right when the clock struck 12, it started. The Proud Burj Khalifa came alive. Colorful lights sparkling around it, and it was one of the most dazzling thing i have ever seen.

Later on, I dug deeper and thought about their decision to go ahead with the fireworks, to celebrate when others are in pain. What I came to conclude was that I was not completely correct. The perspective of going ahead with the fireworks was not to celebrate over others grief, it was to celebrate life which was still living and hoping.

The proud grand Burj Khalifa stood there and celebrated life. Distributed colors amongst the people who chose to stand there and wait. People who were scared and sad with the fire incident, yet they decided to witness the royal beauty. People who believed in themselves, believed in life. People who promised themselves to bring back life to The Address building just a little later.

Now this is what i call courage and I salute it. And  I am happy to be proven wrong.

Your Majesty – Burj Khalifa

“Just shut the f*** up! will you?”

“Just shut the f*** up! will you?”

Blabber and Blabber!

That’s all some people know to do and they are good at it, Irony!! Have you ever been a victim of some dud dude speaking nonsense, non stop?

If your answer is yes, then I have all my sympathies with you.

I know how it feels because I face it many times. Sometimes, I just can’t find like minded people. People who may talk about something that makes sense to me. I would love to talk about a book that I may have read recently, would love to discuss something of a social concern or for that matter I can even talk about a movie that I watched (something  like “The Pursuit of Happiness”. I suggested a movie name here to give you an idea of my choice of movies. This one is just an example). Masala kind bollywood movies are a complete no no for me. Sorry, I just can’t watch them.

But, I find myself struggling to find like minded people around me. All they have to talk about is some mess that they created, or how they got their nails done, about the kind of makeup they are going to wear for the party, what their husband/wife did to upset them, what’s on the shopping list, blah blah! (No offense to those who think the above way, but it’s just that I am not like them).

Sometimes, I wonder how different are people’s taste and what interests them. I do not want to face the criticism for saying whose taste is better, mine or their’s but I still strongly feel about it. It hurts me to an extent as an individual if I have to forcefully listen to something I just have no interest in. And on many social occasions, I just can’t avoid all these meaningless one sided conversations!

I feel sad while saying this but sometimes I just want to tell them in their face “Just shut the f*** up! will you?”

(I expect this post to receive a little or a lot of criticism)

Congratulations! Your blog is growing!

Congratulations! Your blog is growing!

Hey Guys!!

In continuation to the earlier post Motto of We Bloggers, this was something that I needed to share. Another wonderful and challenging experience of a blogger’s life. This is an everyday affair. A journey that most of us start everyday.

We sit in a train of thoughts and try to live through our journey. Many stations need to be crossed before the train stops finally at our destination. We keep thinking and writing and keep publishing our posts!

Do we know the best part yet! No? Well, we see our blog growing. Yay!! No matter what, slow or fast, the train of our thoughts leads us to our station. The number of views, the number of likes and followers have to grow with time.

For some, the train is slow and for some its a fast one, but we must keep writing. Remember, writing encourages us to be outspoken, it challenges us to keep raising issues that we feel need to be sorted, it keeps the flow of our blood paced with our thoughts penned down so we decide to continue.

We take the train everyday, travel a few miles, reach our stop and finally the numbers tell us these magical lines –

Congratulations!! Your Blog is Growing!!

to the people in the USA

to the people in the USA

Back when i worked as a collection agent almost 16 years back. I am from India and I got a job with GE Capital International Services.

America was a dream country for me (it still is). Great people, better facilities, great roads, amazing restaurants, big universities and a lot more.

I was full of enthusiasm and energy. Ready to collect money due on the Car loans and JC Penney cards. As per my job requirements, I spoke to a lot of people in all the states in USA. People had different accents, backgrounds, interests. Most of them were friendly. They were all fun to talk to and nice.

With time, I realized a thing about many of them, that even if they wanted to pay, they could not take care of their bills. Single working mothers, big family to take care, lesser number of jobs, inflation were a few reasons behind their inability to make payments in time.

One big reason was, their jobs coming to India. The one that I was doing here in maybe 1/3rd of the salary they would have got in the US at that time.

When I spoke to them for payments, they asked me where was I from, and I had to tell them the truth. To my surprise, rather than being angry with me for taking the jobs from them, they told me good things that they heard about my country and how much they wanted to visit here (there were a very few instances when they sounded angry with me). I left the collections job after 2 years.

In 2012, I visited my aunt in New York (Eastchester) and I took my kids to Florida (The Disney World). I was so right about the people of the USA. They were all so ready to help, soft spoken, friendly and always wore a smile on their faces. I just loved all the 30 days that I spent seven seas away from my motherland!!

Thanks to all the people of America!! Hats off guys!!
